Howard “Burl” Willis, 71, of Berwick, died Friday, October 27, 2023 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
Born August 10, 1952 in Mount Hope, WV, he was a son of the late Howard D. and Viola M. (Daum) Willis.
Howard earned his GED and obtained his CDL. He drove truck, crossing the country coast to coast, for over 40 years. Howard’s drive was fueled by his desire to see all 50 states and he especially enjoyed visiting Montana and Wyoming.
He loved NASCAR and watching NFL football. Howard was fond of fishing and motorcycles, especially Harley Davidson’s. He also loved his dog, Bonnet and his cats; having a soft spot for feeding and caring for the feral cats in the area.
Surviving are two sons, Tracey H. McCollough, of New Media and Chad M. Norquest, of Minnesota; and four siblings, Shirley Campbell and her husband, Richard, of Muncy, Patsy Hewlett, of Berwick, Edward Willis, of Nescopeck and Julie Miller, of Berwick.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two brothers, Robert Willis in infancy and Daniel Willis and two brothers-in-law, Donald Hewlett and Carl Miller.
As per his wishes, services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
