Angeline (Angie) Staib

Angeline (Angie) Staib, 90, of Muncy, died Tuesday, February 20, 2024 at Buffalo Valley Lutheran Village, Lewisburg.

Born March 12, 1933, in Pittston, she was a daughter of the late Salvatore and Grace (Sberna) Giunta. On January 6, 1962, she married Robert H. Staib. Together they celebrated 52 years of marriage before his death March 9, 2014.

Angie was a graduate of Lewisburg High School. She worked as a bookkeeper at the former JPM, Lewisburg for 30 years and helped with her brother’s business, Champion Shoes, Lewisburg.

Angie was a very devoted Catholic and a member of the Church of the Resurrection, Muncy.

Angie poured herself into raising her 3 boys. Later in life she loved spending time with her grandchildren and the family dogs. She enjoyed listening to Lawrence Welk-era music. She also loved flowers and tending to her beautiful rose garden. In addition, Angie was an exceptional cook and baker, especially of pies. Everyone had their favorite and she was often asked to bake pies for family gatherings.

Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Jim and Laurie Staib, of Milton and Ted and Lisa Staib, of Oakton, VA; a brother and sister-in-law, Angelo and JoAnn Giunta, of Lewisburg; and two grandchildren Gage (Bri) Bender and Markie Staib.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a son, Steve Staib; and four sisters, Sara, Mickey, Gracie, and Mela.

Friends will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, February 24, 2024 at the Church of the Resurrection, 75 Musser Lane, Muncy, where Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m., with Father Sean Carpenter, officiating.

Burial will follow in the Resurrection Cemetery.

The family will provide the flowers and suggests contributions in Angie’s name be made to the Church of the Resurrection or Sloan Kettering Memorial Hospital online at www.mskcc.org.
