T. William Kennedy Obituary

T. William Kennedy, 93, of Montgomery, died Friday, October 25, 2019 at UPMC Susquehanna, Williamsport.

Born April 10, 1926 in Jersey Shore, he was a son of the late Thomas and Stella (Greiner) Kennedy.  On December 14, 1973 he married the former Phyllis Bastian, who survives.  Together they celebrated 45 years of marriage.

Bill attended South Williamsport High School before joining the United States Navy.  He served his country honorably in the Pacific theater of World War II aboard the USS Denver.  Following his time in the service, Bill worked for 30 years at the former Darling Valve, Williamsport, and eight years at Integrity Homes, Milton.

Bill was a member of the VFW Post 743, Montgomery.

An avid outdoorsmen, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and sitting around the campfire.  Bill was known for tinkering, always keeping himself busy around the house.  He also loved yard sales, rarely driving by and not stopping at one.

Surviving in addition to his wife are five children, David (Peggy) Kennedy, of Allenwood, Keith (Karen) Kennedy, of Cogan Station, Steve (Pamela) Kennedy, Louisiana, Pam (Mitch) Binder, Florida, and Stanley (Mary Rebecca) Hockenbrock, of Muncy; one brother, Robert (Joan) Kennedy, of California; two sisters, Viola (Jim) Kasner, of Utah, and Pat Rowles, of Williamsport; 11 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two brothers, Frank and Harry Kennedy; and one sister, Betty Merrell.

Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.

Interment will take place in St. John Lutheran “Brick” Church Cemetery, Montgomery.

The family is being assisted by Grenoble’s, 121 S. Main St., Muncy.
