Sadie E. Sones

Sadie E. Sones, 92, of Muncy died Thursday, January 3, 2019 at the UPMC Susquehanna Skilled Nursing Unit, Muncy.

Born February 25, 1926 in Clarkstown, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Hattie (Fennel) Chamberlain. On April 14, 1945 she married the former Walter L. Sones. Together they celebrated 70 years of marriage before his death Dec. 3, 2015.

Sadie was a graduate of Muncy High School. She worked at the former Montgomery Mills and retired from the Muncy School District, where she worked in the cafeteria.

An avid motorcycle rider, Sadie belonged to the Gold Wing Road Riders Association.

She also enjoyed reading.

Surviving are two sons and one daughter-in-law, Bruce L. Sones, of Muncy and Roger W. and Bonnie Sones, of Huntersville; two daughters and one son-in-law, Gloria Mingle, of Turbotville and Kathryn and Lloyd Hubbert, of Pennsdale; 12 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by two sons and two daughters-in-law, Ronald Sones, Frank and Bonnie Sones and Kay Sones; and four siblings, Frank, Harry, Bessie and Babe.

Burial will be held privately at the convenience of the family in the Muncy Cemetery.
