Roberta Ann Hessert

Roberta Ann Hessert, 83, formerly of Muncy, died Monday, August 28, 2017 at the Masonic Village at Elizabethtown.

Born September 24, 1933 in Wilkes-Barre, she was a daughter of the late Peter and Ann (Marfisi) Fediow. She and her husband, George L. Hessert, Jr., celebrated 59 years of marriage before his death December 20, 2012.

Roberta was a graduate of Williamsport High School. She previously worked as a manager at Avis Rent-A-Car and as a bookkeeper at the family’s appliance store, the former Housel’s, Williamsport. Roberta had also worked for Loyalsock Township, SCI, Muncy and Aquarius Pool and Patio.

She was a member of the Church of the Resurrection, Muncy.

Roberta had a wonderful sense of humor and enjoyed spending time with her family.

Surviving are three children, Judith Stubanas and her husband, James, of Raleigh, NC, Peter Hessert and his wife, Ruth, of Pocono Pines, and Marciann Hessert and her fiancé, Hank Holcomb, of Muncy; and five grandchildren, Alyse and Marisa Stubanas, Jenna Hessert and Zachary and Joseph Hartland. She also leaves behind her beloved pet, JJ.

A Memorial Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, at the Church of the Resurrection, 75 Musser Lane, Muncy, with the Rev. Glenn McCreary, officiating.

The family will provide the flowers and suggests memorial contributions be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, P. O. Box 1000 Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38101-9908.
