Oliver S. Avery

Oliver S. Avery, 80, of 201 S. Washington St., Muncy, husband, father, grandfather and friend finished his course according to II Timothy 4:7 on October 4, 2017.

Born September 27, 1937 in Millville, he was a son of the late Effie Poust Reese. On September 17, 1960, he married the former Nancy E. Frey, who survives. Together they celebrated 57 years of marriage.

Oliver was a graduate of Hughesville High School.

He attended Moreland Community Church, Moreland Township.

Surviving in addition to his wife are six children and their spouses; Tammy E. Weber, of Montoursville, Penny K. and Scott Pardoe, of Muncy, Steven M. and Jen Avery, of South Williamsport, Gregory L. and Karen Avery, of Hughesville, Laura A. and Edward Jedrzejek, of Mechanicsburg, and Mark O. and Kristen Avery, of Muncy; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Shirley Reese and Joyce and Craig Shaffer, all of Hughesville; a brother and sister-in-law, David and Chao Hua Reese, of Hughesville; and nine grandchildren; Sarah E. Weber, Bryce E. Pardoe, Olivia M. Avery, Hannah S. Avery, Gage E. Avery, Allison A. Jedrzejek, Jonathan E. Jedrzejek, Cooper M. Avery and Colton O. Avery.

In addition to his parents he was predeceased by two sisters, Charlotte Reese and Della Milheim.

Friends will be received from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at Grenoble’s, 121 S. Main St., Muncy, where the funeral will be held at 11 a.m. with Colonel Claude “Sam” Astin III, officiating.

Burial will follow in Moreland Community Church Cemetery.
