Melanie Marie Powers

Melanie Marie Powers, 32, of Pennsdale, died Tuesday, April 10, 2018 as a result of injuries sustained in a vehicle accident.

Born October 18, 1985 in Williamsport, she was the daughter of Gary “Denny” and Dody (Worthington) Adams. On October 24, 2009 she married Derek Powers, who survives. Together they celebrated 8 wonderful years of marriage.

Melanie was a 2004 graduate of Muncy High School, where she played softball and was a graduate of Lock Haven University, where she received her bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance and International finance.  Melanie later received her master’s degree in finance from Bloomsburg University. She worked in finance at Geisinger for the Anesthesia Department.

She loved flower gardens, but her first priority and love of her life were her children, Kaityln, Ryan and Megyn Powers, all at home.

Surviving in addition to her husband, parents and children are a brother and sister-in-law, Matt and Amber Adams, of Pennsdale; maternal grandparents, Beverly and Fred Worthington, of Pennsdale; paternal grandfather, Edward Adams, of Muncy; father-in-law, Steven Smith, of Hughesville; mother-in-law, Yvette Smith, of Allenwood; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her paternal grandmother, Carol Adams.

Friends will be received from 10 a.m. to noon, Monday, at Grenoble’s, 121 S. Main St., Muncy, where a Memorial Service will be held at noon, with Pastor Kevin St. Martin, minister of Trinity United Methodist Church, Pennsdale, officiating.

Burial will follow in Muncy Cemetery.
