Laura R. Neitz

Laura R. Neitz, 91, formerly of Muncy, died Monday, June 26, 2017 at Manor Care North, Williamsport.

Born November 15, 1925 in Muncy, she was a daughter of the late Harry and Anna (Lachance) Riley. She and her husband, Lester M. Neitz, celebrated 66 years of marriage before his death May 5, 2012.

Laura was a graduate of Muncy High School. She worked at the former Relda Apparel, Hughesville, the former Fox’s Restaurant, Muncy and as a cafeteria monitor at the Ward L. Myers Elementary School, Muncy.

Laura was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Muncy.

Surviving are a daughter, Carol A. Neitz, of Summerdale; a granddaughter, Christine (Strouse) Treadwell and her husband, Albert, of Mechanicsburg; two great-grandsons, Nicholas and Matthew Treadwell, of Mechanicsburg; and a niece, Nancy (Ball) Merrick, of Muncy.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a daughter, Cathleen F. Neitz and two sisters, Dorothy Riley and Emily (Riley) Ball.

Friends will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday, at Grenoble’s, 121 S. Main St., Muncy, where a memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. with her pastor, the Rev. Arlene Beechert, officiating.

Burial will follow in Green Lawn Memorial Park, Montgomery.

The family will provide the flowers and suggests memorial contributions be made to either the First United Methodist Church, 602 S. Market St., Muncy, PA 17756 or to Manor Care North, Alzheimer’s Unit, 300 Leader Drive, Williamsport, PA 17701.
