Joyce L. Michael

Joyce L. Michael, 84, of Jersey Shore, died Sunday, November 24, 2019 at Manor Care South, Williamsport.

Born October 23, 1935 in Tyrone, she was a daughter of the late Gordon and Velda (Crane) Davis.  On July 30, 1981 she married Dale “Ed” Michael, who survives.  Together they celebrated 38 years of marriage.

Joyce was a 1954 graduate of Tyrone High School.  She worked as a caregiver for the Kleckner’s helping them to care for their son and also worked for the former Lysock View Nursing Home, now Valley View, Montoursville.

Joyce was a member of the Oval United Methodist Church.

She enjoyed sewing and cooking.

Surviving in addition to her husband are three sons, Richard Nearhoof and his wife, Candy, of Muncy, James Nearhoof and his wife, Liz, of Maryland and William “BJ” Nearhoof and his wife, Townya, of Bellefonte; three step-children, Frank Michael and his wife Ila, of Muncy, Dale Michael, of Pennsdale and Karen Michael and her partner Julie Miller, of Alabama; one sister, Carol Heaton, of Tyrone; one brother, Bud Davis, of the Greater Philadelphia Area; 16 grandchildren; four step-grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased one daughter, Deb Phillips; one son Kenny Nearhoof; and four sisters.

Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.

The family is being assisted by Grenoble’s, 121 S. Main St., Muncy.
