Janet L. Smith

Janet L. Smith, 78, of Muncy, died Friday, October 12, 2018 at the Muncy Valley Hospital.

Born April 8, 1940 in Unityville, she was a daughter of the late Harry D. and Meriam (Derrick) Reese.

Janet was a graduate of Hughesville High School.  She worked for Sylvania, Montoursville and at various nursing homes throughout the area.  Janet also spent many years as a crossing guard for the Muncy School District.

Surviving are four children, Robin L. Smith, Lloyd A. Smith and Daniel J. Smith and his wife, Laura, all of Muncy, and Teresa L. Morris, of New Columbia; one sister, Phyllis Bitler, of Muncy; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by one sister, Francis Snyder.

Burial will be held privately at the convenience of the family in Twin Hills Memorial Park, Muncy.

The family is being assisted by Grenoble’s, 121 S. Main St., Muncy.
