Donald A. Tiesler

Donald A. Tiesler, 70, of Williamsport, died Monday, July 30, 2018 at Manor Care North, Williamsport.

He was born January 24, 1948 in Worchester, Mass., a son of the late Harold E. & Catherine S. (Young) Tiesler.   He married the former FranKay Heiges on October 22, 1994 and together they celebrated 21 years of marriage until her death on April 29, 2015.

Donald graduated Northeast High School, St Petersburg, FL, and enlisted into the United States Army in 1965, serving honorably during the Vietnam War.  He later retired after 26 years from the St. Petersburg, FL Police Department.  Donald and his wife moved to Pennsylvania in 2010 to be with her family after being separated for 28 years.

Donald was raised in the Baptist faith.

He was a life member of the Bower Decker Post 251 American Legion, Montgomery.  Donald loved the outdoors and enjoyed spending time on the water, boating and fishing.

Surviving are one son, Donald A. Tiesler II and his wife, Jennifer, of Richmond, Virginia; one daughter, Constance A. “Cat” Tiesler, of St. Petersburg, FL; one step son, Michael Magnetta and his wife, Christina, of St. Petersburg, FL; one brother-in-law and sister-in-law, George Heiges and his wife, Kathryn, of Elimsport; two grandsons, Bradley Tiesler and Brayden Everett; and one step granddaughter, Riley Magnetta.

Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family in Arlington National Cemetery.
