Beryl M. Dirk

Beryl M. Dirk, 94, of Muncy, died Saturday, April 13, 2019, at her home.

Born May 11, 1924, she was a daughter of the late Lewis and Estella (Saxon) Bennett.  On May 1, 1948, she married William H. Dirk and together they celebrated nearly 22 years of marriage until his death in 1970.

Beryl was a 1942 graduate of Muncy High School.

She formerly attended Grace Baptist Church, Muncy.

Beryl enjoyed baking, crocheting and going for walks.

Surviving are five children, Sheila Annette Seidel and her husband, Jim, of Unityville, Gloria Baer and her husband, Arthur, of Williamsport, Patricia G. Bower and her husband, Jim, of Muncy, Cathy D. Shannon, of Montgomery, and Stephen M. Dirk and his wife, Rochelle, of Muncy; one sister, June Edwards, of Muncy; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by one daughter, Marilyn Jean Stiffler; two brothers, Gary and Harry Bennett; four sisters, Mildred Magargle, Lola McCarty, Jackie Haynes and Priscilla Frey; and a son-in-law, Kurt Shannon.

A graveside service will be held Wednesday, April 17 at 11 a.m. in Pine Summit Cemetery, 997 Church Rd., Unityville, with the Rev. Robert Rice of Muncy Baptist Church, officiating.

The family is being assisted by Grenoble’s, 121 S. Main St., Muncy.
