Sally Anne Sherman

Sally Anne Sherman, 82, of Muncy, died Monday, March 11, 2024 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.

Born December 6, 1941 in Montgomery, she was a daughter of the late Edward and Catheryn (Simmons) Koziol. She and her husband, William “Big Red” Sherman, celebrated 51 years of marriage before his death in October 2015.

Sally was a graduate of the Montgomery High School and St. Joseph’s School of Nursing, where she received her degree as a registered nurse. She previously worked as the director of nursing at the former Kramm’s Nursing Home, Milton, as a home health care nurse at the former Sycamore Manor, Montoursville, as a nurse aide instructor for HACC and as a school nurse at Elimsport Elementary School. Sally was well loved by her nursing students and known for her enormous heart, patience and sense of humor.

She was a member of the Church of the Resurrection, Muncy.

An avid Montgomery Red Raiders and Steelers football fan, she enjoyed cheering her children and grandchildren on at their sporting events.  Most Sunday’s you would find her waving her terrible towel while cheering for her beloved Pittsburgh Steelers.

Surviving are two children, William Michael (Samantha) Sherman, of Picture Rocks and Shannon Baumer; five grandchildren, whom she adored, Abby (Tyler) Potts, Elly Sherman (Jeremy Grove), Madison (Joe) Edkin, Mercedes Dunkle and Mia Dunkle; two precious great-granddaughters, Rowan and Reagan Potts; and a brother, Michael (Lynn) Koziol, of Montandon.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a brother, Jim Koziol.

Friends will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, March 16, at the Church of the Resurrection, 75 Musser Lane, Muncy, where Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. with Father Sean Carpenter, officiating.

Burial will be held privately in Green Lawn Memorial Park, Montgomery.

The family will provide the flowers and suggests memorial contributions in Sally’s name be made to the Church of the Resurrection, Mortgage Fund, 75 Musser Lane, Muncy, PA 17756.
