Dorothy Parsons Obituary

Dorothy J. Parsons, 80, formerly of Muncy, died Thursday, April 18, 2024, in York County, where she had been residing with her son the past four years.

Born September 18, 1943, in Northumberland, she was a daughter of the late Harry Dauberman and Isabelle (Shultz) Dauberman Weaver. On February 6, 1965, she married James B. Parsons Jr. who preceded her in death on April 7, 2014.

Dorothy was a graduate of Williamsport Area High School.  She spent most of her younger years raising and caring for her family.  She also had been employed at the former Riverside Markets.

Dorothy was a past president of the Pennsdale Volunteer Fire Department Women’s Auxiliary.  She was also a past Cub Scout leader.  More recently, she enjoyed spending time at the Delta Senior Center.

Surviving are one son and daughter-in-law, James B. III and Ann Parsons; four siblings and their spouses, Henry and Aretta Weaver, Barb and Merle Grabhorn, John and Shari Weaver and Randy Weaver and his companion, Karen; one brother-in-law, Thomas Witt; six grandchildren, Megan Parsons, Rebecca Parsons Wright and her husband, Kyle, James Parsons IV and his wife, Briana, and Danielle, Cody and Paige Parsons; and five great-grandchildren, Jaxon,  Adalynn,  Ezra, Liam and Cooper.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by two sons, Timothy Parsons, in infancy, and Jeffrey Parsons; and eight siblings.

A private graveside committal will be held in Twin Hills Memorial Park, Muncy.

The family suggests contributions in Dorothy’s memory be made to either the Pennsdale Volunteer Fire Department, 261 Village Road Pennsdale, PA 17756, or the Delta Senior Center, 5 Pendyrus St. Delta, PA 17314.
