Wayne L. Wertz, Sr.

Wayne L. Wertz Sr., 75, of Muncy, passed away on May 3, 2017, at UPMC Susquehanna, Williamsport.

Born May 9, 1941 in Montgomery, he was a son of the late Herman and Dorothy (Neufer) Wertz.  On June 20, 1959 he married the former Kay Arlene Balliet who predeceased him on November 5, 2001.  Together they celebrated 42 years of marriage.

Wayne attended Montgomery area schools and worked for the former Sprout Waldron, now Andritz, where he eventually retired.

He was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose #866, Muncy Valley and the Edward J. Smith Post 342 V.F.W., Muncy.

Wayne enjoyed hunting, fishing, coin collecting and watching western movies.

Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Thomas A. and Dee Wertz, of Spokane, WA and David L. and Theresa Wertz, of Lewisburg; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Connie McCarty, of Hughesville and Sandy and Bud Neidig, of Muncy; two grandchildren, David Wertz Jr. and his companion, Amanda Buggy, and Corey Wertz; two step grandchildren, Jennie Reeder and Frank Kobilaritch, Jr.; and five step great-grandchildren.

Friends will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday, May 12 at Grenoble’s, 121 S. Main St., Muncy, where the funeral will be held at 11 a.m. with Mike Wright, officiating.

Burial will follow in Green Lawn Memorial Park, Montgomery.
