Robert B. "Bob" Banzhof

Robert R. “Bob” Banzhof, 78, of 599 Fogelman Rd., Muncy, died Friday, January 20, 2017 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.

Born August 9, 1938 in Muncy, he was raised by his mother, Romaine P. (Reese) Houseknecht and step father, Orval Houseknecht. On September 1, 1956 he married the former Barbara Lucas, who survives. Together they celebrated 60 years of marriage.

Bob was a 1956 graduate of Muncy High School. He worked as a machinist at the former Sprout-Waldron, now Andritz, where he was a member of the Quarter Century Club.

Bob was a charter and active member of Grace Baptist Church, Muncy.

He enjoyed hunting, gardening, family gatherings and spending time at the 1000 Islands in New York.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are a son and daughter-in-law, Rodney and Sheila Banzhof of South Williamsport; two daughters and sons-in-law, Sharon and David Steele of Montgomery and Pamela and Rev. Timothy Spring of Bozeman, MT; 13 grandchildren and one great-grandson.

Friends will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, at Grace Baptist Church, 5471 Clarkstown Rd., Muncy, where the funeral will be held at 11 a.m. with his pastor, the Rev. Charles Teffeteller, officiating.

Burial will follow in the Muncy Cemetery.

The family will provide the flowers and suggests memorial contributions be made to the Grace Baptist Church, 5471 Clarkstown Rd., Muncy, PA 17756.

The family is being assisted by Grenoble’s, 121 S. Main St., Muncy.
