Mary M. Meckley

Mary M. Meckley, 87, of Clarkstown, died Tuesday, April 12, 2016 at the Williamsport Regional Medical Center, Williamsport.

She was born January 7, 1929 in Allenwood, a daughter of the late Victor Sr. and Idilla (Jamison) Williams. Mary and her husband, Olan D. Meckley, were married in 1951 and celebrated 30 years of marriage before his death in October 1981.

Mary previously attended the Washington Presbyterian Church, Allenwood.

She enjoyed reading, especially books about history and birds. Mary was also fond of researching family genealogy and bird watching

She loved her family most of all, and they were very important to her.

Surviving are one son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Carla Meckley, of Sunbury; one daughter and son-in-law, Jeanne and Bryson Burkholder, of Clarkstown; one brother and sister-in-law, Victor Jr. and Charlotte Williams, of Mercer; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Rose Hively, of Williamsport and Helen and Bernard Shook, of Clarkstown; two grandsons, Michael Meckley Jr. and Andrew Meckley; and five great-grandchildren, Keagan, Kayla, Adam, Hadlee and Lydia.

In addition to Mary’s husband and parents, she was predeceased by five sisters, Ruth Fisher, Meda Reitmeyer, Frances Swanger, Kate Edinger and Bertha Ferguson.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Grenoble’s, 121 S. Main St., Muncy.

Burial will be held privately at the convenience of the family in the Uniontown Cemetery, Allenwood.

The family welcomes flowers; however, if desired,  memorial contributions may be made to the Muncy Public Library, 108 S. Main St., Muncy, PA 17756.
