M. Jean GaNung

M. Jean GaNung, 91, formerly of Muncy, went to her heavenly home Tuesday, October 17, 2017.

She was born July 13, 1926, in Olean, NY, the fourth child of Erve J. and Mildred M. (Nix) Osborne. After graduating from Olean High School, Jean enrolled as a nurse cadet in Washington D.C. It was there that she met and married G. Warren GaNung, then kept herself busy raising six children.

Jean enjoyed watching her children and grandchildren participate in sports and school activities. She is (forever) an avid Cubs fan – Go Cubs!

Surviving are her beloved children, Ken (Mary Jo) GaNung, of Bartlett, IL, Christine  (Gary) Arnold, of Silver Lake, WI, Robin (Rod) Bost, of Huntingdon, TN, Melissa (Dave) Rising, of Muncy, David (Karen) GaNung, of Newton, NJ, and Mark (Mona) Ganung, of Bradfordwoods, PA; her grandchildren, Amanda (Kyle) Hudson, Elissa (John) Foust, Emily (John) Schmitt, Rodney (Heather) Bost, Tommy Bost, Josh (Misty) Bost, Kara (Jon Ransom-Flint) Rising, Nicole Christoforo, Sarah (Brock) Hunt, Meghan GaNung, Anna GaNung and Andrew GaNung; step grandchildren, Christopher (Christy) Arnold, Lindsay and Madison Moyes; and 13 great and step great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind her many friends, especially her church family from New Hope Community Fellowship.

Preceding her in death in addition to her parents and husband were a daughter-in-law, Kathy Ganung, two sisters, June Osborne and Geraldine Crosby; and a brother, Earl J. Osborne.

Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, at Grenoble’s, 121 S. Main St., Muncy where the funeral will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, with Harry Dilcher and Jim Nuss, officiating.

Burial will follow in the Muncy Cemetery.

The family will provide the flowers and suggests memorial contributions be made to either the Lycoming County SPCA, 2508 Reach Rd., Williamsport, PA 17701 or to the New Hope Community Fellowship, 2751 Rte 220 Hwy, Muncy, PA 17756.
