Joel Kenneth Fisher, Jr.

Joel Kenneth Fisher, Jr., 70, of Muncy, died Saturday, July 4, 2015 at the Williamsport Regional Medical Center.

Born July 26, 1944 in Coatesville, he was a son of the late Joel Kenneth, Sr. and Della (McClune) Fisher.  On March 27, 2007 he married the former Dori Sherman, who survives. Together they celebrated 8 years of marriage.

Joel was a graduate of the former S. Horace Scott High School, Coatesville and Eastern Mennonite College, Virginia.  He was self-employed for many years as a restoration stone mason.

Joel was a member of the Shunk United Methodist Church.

He was also a member of the National Rifle Association.  Joel loved spending time in Shunk and enjoyed the mountains, nature, hunting with his son and spending time with his daughters. 

Surviving in addition to his wife are six children, Joel Kenneth Fisher III, of York County, Rochelle C. Fisher, of Maryland, Bonnie Rae Fisher, of Virginia, Tierne Hobbs, of Muncy, Jonathan Scranton, of Williamsport, and Hannah E. Scranton, of Williamsport; and one brother and sister-in-law, Larry A. and Gayle Fisher, of Virginia.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by one sister, Bonnie Rae Fisher.

The family is planning a memorial service to be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 9 at Shunk United Methodist Church, 9881 State Route 154, Shunk, PA 17768 officiated by Julia Fisher.

Burial will be held following the service in Ellenton Cemetery, Shunk.
