Harriet P. Shreck

Harriet P. Shreck, 95, a longtime resident of Montgomery, died Sunday, July 16, 2017 at Milton Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Born May 16, 1922 in Northumberland, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Lillian (Hazlet) Phillips.  Harriet and her husband, Guy R. Shreck, were married on May 27, 1942, and celebrated 48 years of marriage before his death on September 6, 1990.

Harriet was a graduate of Northumberland High School.  She worked many years for the fomer Philco, Watsontown and Montgomery Mills.

Harriet was a longtime member of the First United Methodist Church, Montgomery.  She enjoyed sewing, quilting, reading and cooking.

Surviving are two sons and one daughter-in-law, James Shreck, of Watsontown, and Paul and Karla Shreck, of South Williamsport; two daughters and sons-in-law, Shirley and David Shoemaker, of Danville, and Ruth and Doyle Ranck, of New Columbia; nine grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Friends will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at the First United Methodist Church, 41 W. Houston Ave., Montgomery, where the funeral will be held at 11 a.m. with her pastor, Chris Long, officiating.

Burial will follow in Twin Hills Memorial Park, Muncy.

The family suggests contributions in Harriet’s name be made to the First United Methodist Church, 41 W. Houston Ave., Montgomery, PA 17752.

The family is being assisted by Grenoble’s, 121 S. Main St., Muncy.
