Gretchen Moyer

Gretchen H. Moyer, 58, of 205 S. Market St., Muncy, died Friday, July 24, 2015 at the Gatehouse, Williamsport.

Born November 12, 1956 in Prestonsburg, KY, she was a daughter of the late John and Barbara (Allen) Heinze. On February 11, 1984 she married David M. Moyer, who survives. Together they celebrated 31 years of marriage.

Gretchen was a 1973 graduate of Prestonsburg High School. She received her Bachelors of Fine Arts from James Madison University and her Masters of Fine Arts from the University of Delaware. Gretchen was as an artist, and also worked for 13 years in the medical library at Hershey Medical Center. Most recently, she was an adjunct faculty member in the Art and Design department at Penn College.

She was a member of the Church of the Resurrection, Muncy. Gretchen was also a member of the Pastel Society of America and the Maryland Pastel Society.

Surviving in addition to her husband are one brother, John Heinze, Jr., of Prestonsburg, KY and his children, Michael  and Leslie Heinze; and one sister, Lisa Heinze, of KY and her children Barry and Casey Ward.

Friends will be received from 9 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Church of the Resurrection, 75 Musser Lane, Muncy, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. with her pastor, the Rev. Glenn McCreary, officiating.

Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Montoursville.

The family will provide the flowers and suggests memorial contributions be made to the Gatehouse. Make checks payable to Susquehanna Health Foundation and mail to 1001 Grampian Blvd., Williamsport, PA 17701.
