Francis S. Kutz, 81, of Muncy, died Sunday, December 3, 2017 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
Born September 21, 1936 in Newport, Francis was a son of the late Louis and Mary (Benko) Kutz. On June 27, 1959 he married the former Penny Meeker, who survives. Together they celebrated 58 years of marriage.
After graduating from Newport Township High School, Francis served honorably with the United States Navy. Following his discharge he attended SUNY Binghamton and later Geisinger Medical School where he acquired a degree as a nurse anesthetist. He worked for many years at the Muncy Valley Hospital before a career in sales of medical equipment. After years in the medical industry, Francis worked for Aquarius Pools, Williamsport, where he retired.
He enjoyed the outdoors, gardening and was active in helping the boy scouts. Francis was a member of the Muncy Jaycees earning Jaycee of the Year in 1968.
Surviving in addition to his wife are three sons and their spouses, Jeffrey and Patty Kutz, of West Chester, Kevin and Linda Kutz, of Pasadena, MD, and Stephen Kutz and Courtney Womack, of Seattle, WA; one daughter and partner, Wendy Kutz and Mona Lacy, of Phoenix, AZ; one brother and one sister, Joseph Kutz and Theresa Kutz, both of Lebanon; four grandchildren, five step-grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents he was predeceased by one brother, Anthony Kutz.
Friends will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at Church of the Resurrection, 75 Musser Lane, Muncy, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. with his pastor, the Rev. Glenn McCreary, officiating.
Burial will follow in Muncy Cemetery and a luncheon will be served at Church of the Resurrection.
