Elizabeth J. "Betty" Kisner

Elizabeth J. “Betty” Kisner, 87, of Muncy, died Tuesday, March 21, 2017 at the Muncy Valley Hospital Skilled Nursing Unit.

Born November 23, 1929 in Lock Haven, she was a daughter of the late Robert and Lena (Schloch) McManigal. She and her husband, Willard E. “Bud” Kisner, were married for 64 years before his death Feb. 1, 2014.

Betty was a graduate of Muncy High School.

She was an avid reader, often reading a book a day.

Surviving are a son, Larry N. Kisner, of Muncy; two daughters and sons-in-law, Lane and Larry Sones, of Muncy and Carla and Thomas Kitchen, of Laporte; a brother and sister-in-law, Robert “Skinner” and Janet McManigal, of Pennsdale; a sister, Pearl Rathmell, of Muncy; three grandchildren, Camaron (Melissa) Sones, Tyler Sones and Cole Kitchen; and one great-grandson, Owen Wade Sones.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by a brother, Lawrence McManigal; two sisters, Erma McManigal and Louise Meserole; and two grandchildren, Wade Sones and Hilary Kitchen.

In keeping with Betty’s wishes, there will be no services.

Burial will be held privately at the convenience of the family in Muncy Cemetery.

The family is being assisted by Grenoble’s, 121 S. Main St., Muncy.
