Debra Kay Rood, 56, of Muncy, died Saturday, August 12, 2017 at UPMC Susquehanna, Williamsport.
Born August 21, 1960, in Mountain Home, AR, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Marjorie (Welch) Magyar. On March 4, 1978 she married Ken Rood, who survives. Together they celebrated 39 years of marriage.
Deb was a 1978 graduate of Montgomery High School.
She worked early in life at Paramedex, Inc., Muncy, later as secretary at Church of the Resurrection, Muncy and also secretary at her family business, Rood’s Automotive, Muncy.
Deb was a longtime member of the Church of the Resurrection.
She was very family oriented, a loving mother and wife who loved her grandchildren immensely. Deb was also an avid animal lover and enjoyed reading.
Surviving in addition to her husband, are one son and daughter-in-law, Jeremy and Jamie Rood, of Aberdeen, MD; one daughter and son-in-law, Kelly and Ben Krichbaum, of Pataskala, OH; one brother and sister-in-law, John and Roxanne Magyar, of Montgomery; one sister, Pamela Ann Myers, of Collins, MO; a stepmother, Beryl Magyar; and four grandchildren, Rachel, Aubrey and Colton Rood, and Jordan Krichbaum.
Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Grenoble’s, 121 S. Main St., Muncy, and again from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday, at the Church of the Resurrection, 75 Musser Lane, Muncy, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, with the Rev. Phillip J. Sladicka, officiating.
Burial will follow in Muncy Cemetery.
