Daniel W. "Danny" Gimpert

Daniel W. “Danny” Gimpert, 37, of 800 Susquehanna Trail Rd., Muncy, died Tuesday, October 27, 2015 at the Susquehanna Health Skilled Nursing and Rehab Center at the Muncy Valley Hospital.

Born May 29, 1978 in Bethlehem, he was a son of William Paul Gimpert, of Bethlehem and Ann Marie (Shuman) Kahler, of Muncy.

Danny was a 1996 graduate of Muncy High School and a 2000 graduate of Bloomsburg University, where he received his teaching degree in Elementary Education.

He was a member of the Church of the Resurrection, Muncy.

Danny loved playing his guitar and listening to music. He also enjoyed Penn State Football and Rocky Balboa.

Surviving in addition to his parents are a step mother, Geri Gimpert, of Bethlehem; a step father, William Kahler, of Muncy; brother, Matthew P. Gimpert, of Riverdale, NJ; four step sisters and three step brothers-in-law, Lindsey Elaine & Michael Hollingsworth, of Raleigh, NC, Wendy Harstine, of Easton, Michele and Andrew Sarkozy and Tracey and Donald Williams, all of Bethlehem; maternal grandparents, Ray and Nancy Shuman, of South Williamsport; and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Joe and Rose Gimpert; and step grandparents, Donald and Martha Kahler and Michael and Irene Vanic.

Danny was a victim of a very serious disease, but he fought through many years and was an inspiration to all who knew him. He was well cared for an loved by the staff at Muncy Skilled Nursing.

Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Grenoble’s, 121 S. Main St., Muncy, where a prayer service will be held at 5:30 p.m.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Church of the Resurrection, 75 Musser Lane, Muncy, with his pastor, the Rev. Glenn McCreary, officiating.

Burial will follow in the Resurrection Cemetery, Montoursville.

The family will provide the flowers and suggests memorial contributions be made to the United Leukodystrophy Foundation, 224 N. Second St., Suite 2, DeKalb, IL 60115.
