Althea R. Wilson

Althea R. Wilson, 91, of Muncy, died Saturday, April 29, 2017 at Rose View Center, Williamsport.

Born May 18, 1925 in Jerseytown, she was a daughter of the late Harry T. and Tranie M. (Fry) Sones.  On November 4, 1955, she married Donald F. "Don" Wilson, who survives.  Together they celebrated 61 years of marriage.

Althea retired after 37 years working at the former Sylvania, later GTE, where she was a member of the Quarter Century club.

She attended Grace Baptist Church, Muncy.

Althea enjoyed spending time with her family, including many hiking trips through the Smoky Mountains of Tennessee.  She was also quite the shopper, frequenting many local stores.

Surviving in addition to her husband are one daughter and son-in-law, Janie and Jerry Swope, of Hagerstown, MD; one brother, Charles Sones, of New Braunfels, TX; one sister, Hilda Grier, of Falling Waters, WV; two grandchildren, Jason Swope and his wife, Elizabeth, and Jeff Swope; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews, including, Cindy Snyder and her husband, C. Robert, of Watsontown.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by two sisters, Dorothy Johnson and Arlene Edwards; and a brother-in-law, Richard Grier.

Friends will be received from Noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday, at Grenoble’s, 121 S. Main St., Muncy, where the funeral will be held at 1 p.m., with Rev. Charles Teffeteller, officiating

Burial will follow in Muncy Cemetery.
